Hearing loss? – Meniere Disease Symptoms Checker

Meniere Disease or  Idiopathic endolymphatic hydrops is an inner ear disorder that thoroughly affects people’s quality of life. This disorder is relatively common in the United States and Worldwide and can appear nearly at any age.

Meniere’s Disease is a disorder in which the inner portion of the ear is affected. Doctors divide the ear is into three portions, external, middle, and inner parts. The latter is essential for both hearing and balance functions within the body. Consequently, the symptoms of this disease would mostly be in this body’s sphere.

Doctors know where is the disease’s location and what is happening within it. They know that there is higher endolymphatic pressure within the inner ear. Yet, doctors do not know yet exactly what causes it. To that end, doctors use the word “idiopathic” when referring to this disease.

Moreover, like many other diseases, familial predisposition may play an essential role in this disease because half of the patients with Meniere Disease have a family history. There are about one thousand cases per 100,000 people in the United States, although the scientific community thinks this is an underestimation given the difficulties there are for diagnosing it.

Several factors could make people keener to develop this chronic condition—for example, infections, metabolic and hormone problems, or head traumas. Also, people with autoimmune diseases, allergies, or even specific food-triggers are also at higher risk of Meniere Disease.

The disease typically starts in adulthood; it has its peak appearance between the forties and sixties. However, it can affect people as younger and older, as four and ninety years, respectively.

Doctors mostly treat the symptoms of this condition, but it tends to progress over time. As the disease progresses, there are ups and downs, with chances of symptoms to disappear, although it comes with the price of long-term complications as possible poor balance and hearing.

This tool is a Meniere Disease Symptoms Checker. It gathers the most important signs, symptoms, and risk factors for this ailment.

Meniere disease, by definition, is when there is high endolymphatic pressure within the inner ear without an obvious cause. Other situations could prompt this. However, the exact name for that situation or diagnosis is not Meniere Disease. When the cause for this circumstance is known, the name for that diagnosis changes to Meniere Syndrome.

So, What is the purpose of this tool? The tool will use specific questions to inquire about this disease’s most important symptoms and risk factors. Therefore, it will tell anybody who uses it their likelihood of their symptoms because of Meniere Disease.

Keep in mind that this tool does not replace an appropriate assessment by an otorhinolaryngologist. They must run several tests in order to confirm this diagnosis and discard many others that look alike. However, the symptoms of this disease tend to be very particular. Hence, it is possible to tell at least if someone has these symptoms by also considering their medical history.

Importantly, to use this tool is free and would only take a few minutes.
